How To Transfer Your Carnival Cruise Booking To a Travel Agent

I occasionally have been asked by Facebook and social media friends if I can “take over” or transfer a cruise booking.

Why would they ask?

Mostly because they have booked their cruise on the Carnival website and then aren’t sure how to proceed. Or, have special issues and need personalized help. Some feel overwhelmed by the process and aren’t sure they have done everything correctly.

Yes, I can do the transfer only if they booked on the Carnival website.

I will not consider doing it if they have booked with another travel agent.

A travel agent can take over a Carnival Cruise booking, but there are some stipulations.

You generally need to request the transfer before the final payment period. It must be done within 90 days of the initial booking.

Here’s a more detailed look:

  • Timeframe: You can typically switch a booking to a travel agent up to 90 days from the booking date. You can also switch before the final payment period, whichever comes first.
  • Direct Bookings: If you booked directly with Carnival, a travel agent can take over the booking. They need to provide the reservation details. These details include the booking number, guest name, stateroom number, and sail date. The PIN number is also required if applicable.
  • PIN Number: If you booked directly on carnival.com, there might not be a PIN number to provide. In this case, Carnival’s Service agent will verify the takeover request with you.
  • Final Payment Period: You cannot transfer the booking once the final payment has been made.
  • Travel Agent’s Role: Once the takeover is approved, the travel agent will manage your booking. They will make changes and add extras like excursions or drink packages. They will handle any issues that arise.
  • Benefits of Using a Travel Agent: Travel agents can help you find deals. They can also manage your booking and potentially get onboard credits or other benefits.
  • Why Takeover? Some cruisers switch to a travel agent to take advantage of deals, get personalized service, or simply delegate the planning process
So, if you’ve booked your cruise online, you can still benefit from a travel agent. Enjoy the extra perks of having someone who is trusted, caring, and experienced. Contact me!
