Carnival Cruise Line’s Veterans Appreciation Event Explained

Carnival Cruise Line honors military veterans with a Veterans Appreciation Event on most sailings. It’s a special gathering held during the cruise. The event recognizes and thanks those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Here’s what you can expect:

Carnival’s Veterans Appreciation Event Overview

What It Is:

A free onboard event dedicated to active duty military, veterans, and their families. It’s a patriotic, respectful celebration of service.

Where & When:

  • Typically held on sea days (usually Day 2 or 3 of the cruise).
  • The time and location will be listed in your Carnival HUB app under “Events” or the daily Fun Times newsletter in your stateroom.

What Happens:

  • Short presentation or speech by a cruise staff member or military guest.
  • Recognition of each branch of the military — sometimes guests are invited to stand or speak.
  • Slide show or video tribute.
  • A moment of reflection or applause.
  • Often includes a pinning ceremony with a commemorative military appreciation pin.

Perks:

  • Light refreshments may be served (cookies, drinks, etc.).
  • A Carnival “Military Appreciation” pin is usually handed out — a nice keepsake.
  • Occasionally, Carnival offers drink specials or a group photo opportunity.

Who Can Attend:

  • All veterans and active-duty military.
  • Family members and travel companions are welcome and encouraged to attend.

How to Make Sure You’re Included:

  • Register as a veteran or military member in your Carnival profile ahead of your cruise (optional but helps).
  • You can also visit Guest Services on board to ensure you’re on the list.

Thank you for your service!

My dad.
