Using a plastic accordion style pocket file organizer for your cruise is one of my best time savers.

When you’re planning your cruise, this organizer is very handy to hold all of your travel information.
I still have the one I used for our first cruise. I felt soooo organized! 😂
Using one of these is also nice because my hubby knows where to find confirmations or documents.
I have a 12 pocket 10” x 6” size. It easily fits in my carry on, purse, or backpack.

I like to print out my confirmations for everything. Even though I save them in my email files and on my computer. Sometimes a paper copy is quicker and easier to refer to.
I usually book all of our different reservations at different times after we book a cruise. Hotels, airport parking, rental cars are typically cheaper several months out. Airlines about 3 months out. I always take a screenshot of all reservations too.
The file tabs I have in my organizer are:
- Cruise boarding passes
- Personal documents/passports (these stay in the safe until shortly before we cruise)
- Hotel reservations
- Airline reservations
- Airport parking
- Shuttle information
- Excursions
- Prescription list
- Packing list
- Trip insurance
- Port Information
- Travel agent information (before I became a TA I always had my agents’ info handy)
- I put my address label and a business card in the back pocket
I like using one that has the elastic for secure but easy opening and closing. Newer ones have Velcro or snap closures.

Another accordion pocket file tip!

I use a smaller “coupon or receipt” zippered file folder to hold our cruise cash.
When we go to the bank before our cruises I end up with a lot of small bills. But, I like to keep them organized and easy to access. So a zippered file like this works perfectly.
I use a separate pocket for each bill denomination. $1, $5, $10… etc.
I leave this locked in our cabin safe and just take what we need when we leave the ship. We never use a credit card when in port. I have heard too many horror stories of credit card fraud in different ports.
You can purchase these accordion files at Walmart, dollar store, office products store, Amazon, etc.
